Hello lovelies!
I am not sure when it fully happened, but I know it was early in my first year of college that I began to love accessories. Growing up as many girls born in the 80′s decade I was very drawn towards anything preppy. This was before Forever 21, H&M, Zara, Cotton On, and Franchesca’s. It was The Limited, Gap, 5-7-9, Abercrombie and Fitch, Holister, and Claires days. *sidenote (Gap was good then and is good now. They will always be a good go-to in my opinion) All of those stores at the time were very preppy. It was my time of collared shirts, khaki pants, sweater vests, Doc Martins, jellys, and Airwalks. The style was simple then and we had little options. This was before internet shopping was normal. As far as accessories, it was all sterling silver, charm bracelets, lockets, and anything Tiffany’s!!!
So somewhere from my bootcut khaki’s and Doc Martin wearing days I got accessorized through my new friend Ebay. It started with my love for Guatemalan friendship bracelets and literally the rest is history. In my early 20′s it wasn’t unusual for my bangles to be up to my elbows. Ridic I know.
My outfit today is compiled with 3 main preppy pieces- a white collared shirt, blazer and skinny jeans. By adding a gold floral statement necklace, spiked gold flats, cocktail ring, and 3 bold bracelets this ordinary preppy outfit has a little edge to it. One thing I think everyone strives for is originality. We may love and own the same items, but it’s how you wear them, combine them that truly shows who you are. What do you guys do to spice up ordinary looks?

Love this outfit. I like to add a statement necklace to an outfit or some great heels. A bright red lip or bold berry lip is also a great way to spice up your look.

Thanks Agi! This past year was the first year I attempted wearing a bold lip and I love it! It’s amazing how adding something so small can transform a look. Plus I am always down for an extra pop of color!
